What are Carburizing Furnaces?

● How Carburizing Furnaces Work
Carburizing furnaces operate by heating the metal workpiece in a carbon-rich atmosphere, typically at temperatures ranging from 850-950°C, involving three main steps:

1. Heating

2. Carbon Diffusion
- The furnace releases carbon gases such as natural gas (CH₄) or carbon dioxide (CO₂).

3. Quenching
- The workpiece is rapidly cooled using water or oil once removed from the furnace.
- This process strengthens the absorbed carbon layer.
