Roller burnishing by using Superoll is to induce compressive residual stresses and enhance surface roughnes quality. This is a method of deformation processing , unlike the the method of cutting or machining process.The parts after being superolled are not only achieved mirror surface finishing, but also achieved the improvement of wear proof or fatigue strength which is never being achieved by cutting/machining process.We have experienced in this Superoll Method in General Purpose Engines and Marine Engines.

"◆ Issues We used to manufacture parts only by cutting, but we thought to find a method that yield stronger products and less costly. ◆ Our suggestion We offered to including forging in the process that is normally performed only by cutting which lead to quality improvement and cost reduction. ◆ Improvement results ① A boost in strength The brass rod used for forging has a very high viscosity, which led to an increase in strength. ② Work efficiency improvement by reducing man-hours Compared to hot forging, processing such as ""making a hexagonal shape"" and ""pulling out"" can be performed at once, so parts to be cut has decreased. ③ Cost reduction Since the material used for hot forging is smaller compared to cutting, the total material cost has been reduced by 50%."
