In an industrial environment, reliable castors and wheels are crucial for the safety and efficiency of production facilities and logistics processes. With our range of high-quality castors and wheels, we offer the right mobility solution for every requirement. In order to meet the requirements of a wide range of environments, our castor wheels are also available with a wide variety of tread materials.
Blickle has developed four different polyurethane types, tailor-made for different applications. Comprehensive expertise from decades of experience has been put into the Extrathane®, Softhane®, Besthane® and Besthane® Soft treads. This selection means that Blickle’s standard range has the right solution for almost any application. Special polyurethanes for high dynamic and mechanical loads as well as conductive and optimised rolling resistance versions round out the product range. All treads have a consistently high quality level, wear-resistance and resilience.
Polyurethane product range:
- Load wheels, drive wheels, swivel and fixed castors, guide rollers, wheels for stackers, rollers for pallet trucks and spring-loaded castors
- The tread is made from reaction-injected polyurethane elastomer with a hardness level of 75 to 92 ± 3 Shore A
- Wheels in different sizes from 25 to 1,000 millimetres in diameter
- Load capacities up to 100 tons per wheel
Thermoplastic injection-moulded polyurethane (TPU) based on polyesterpolyol, diisocyanate and glycol. This is vibration-absorbing, non-marking, non-staining and highly abrasion-resistant, while also providing good floor preservation. The tread is also resistant to a wide range of aggressive substances. The TPU tread is combined with nylon wheel centres, which have a variety of characteristics. TPU treads are typically used for applications which involve loads that remain stationary for long periods but must still be easily movable. It is also frequently used by manufacturers of stainless steel containers or stainless steel carriages.

The castors and wheels which are frequently used for medium loads are often capable of transporting heavy loads, albeit generally at the cost of operational comfort. The significant weight involved also tends to have a detrimental effect on the floor. In addition to ensuring good floor preservation, they are also easy to manoeuvre and provide a high level of operational comfort in their class. Blickle premium rubber can be divided into the following categories:

Blickle’s heavy duty castors are made in Germany and are well known for their outstanding quality and rugged properties. They are used in a wide variety of settings across the world, especially for intralogistics and machine and systems engineering applications. Blickle is an expert in the design of heavy-duty castors, whether swivel or fixed castors in a robust design, and always uses high-quality components. These are the factors which elevate Blickle’s extensive standard range above its competitors. From heavy duty wheels made of nylon or steel, elastic solid rubber tyres or polyurethane treads, the wheels used in Blickle heavy duty castors have a diameter of up to 1000 mm and can handle loads up to 50,000 kg.

Blickle wheels and castors for transport units are used worldwide for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor industrial applications and can be found in all production related industries. The castors make it significantly easier to transport objects and goods and improve workplace ergonomics. The convince their customers with a exceptionally long lifetime as well. They are typically used for a variety of industrial and retail trolleys, in addition to machinery and equipment of all kinds.
The running gear of industrial trucks, forklift trucks as well as AGV's/AMR's are subject to a wide range of specific requirements due to the variety of situations in which they are used. Blickle provides a total of seven different guide roller series with different polyurethane and nylon treads as part of our comprehensive standard range.
Guide rollers keep things moving smoothly in a number of different areas and help to transport loads safely by making sure that they always follow the same linear path along a guide or rail.
They are used for a wide variety of applications, both indoors and outdoors:
- in sorting facilities (airport luggage sorting, packet sorting, logistics centres)
- as guide elements in machines
- in production plants
- in lifts and escalators
- in conveyor belts
- in offshore cranes
Generally speaking, guide rollers come in two different varieties: guide wheels and running wheels. Guide wheels are used in machines or gates to facilitate linear motion. These wheels are usually put under frequent but brief loads. Running wheels, on the other hand, are usually designed to withstand constant loads. They are frequently used in conveyor systems.
Guide rollers have to meet a wide range of different requirements in various areas. We use different wheel centre materials and our internally developed treads to suit diverse applications.
Machinery and equipment require low levels of rolling resistance to keep things moving smoothly and efficiently. Others need flexibility at low temperatures, hydrolysis-resistance and capabilities of transporting heavy loads of up to 375 kg. Guide rollers used in the chemical or pharmaceutical industries also need to be electrically conductive and resistant to chemicals.
A twin castor has a bracket and two wheels. They have significant advantages over single castors in areas like load capacity, abrasion and swivel resistance. Twin castors are usually used for applications involving heavy loads and limited installation space. Twin castors also make it possible to manoeuvre extremely heavy applications with relatively little effort. The fact that both wheels can rotate in different directions makes transport units with twin castor systems much easier to move and manoeuvre than those with single castors.
From synthetic brackets through to ultra-rugged welded steel brackets: Blickle’s standard range includes twin castors of all types and sizes, capable of handling loads from as low as 50 kg all the way up to 20,000 kg.
