Glass fiber thermocouples combine durability and flexibility for high temperature measurements
■Summary
PhoenixTM's high temperature glass fiber insulated thermocouples are suitable for peak temperatures ranging from 500°C to 800°C. Conforms to ANSI MC96.1 special limit specifications and is designed to withstand severe handling. These thermocouples comply with IEC 60584 with color-coded insulation materials and plug terminals, making them ideal for use in high temperature applications.
■Features
Fiberglass insulation provides thermocouples with thermal stability and robustness, but also flexibility. This allows the thermocouple to be easily handled and allows the exposed hot junction to be precisely and repeatedly positioned at a precise measuring point on the product or in the oven/furnace. Additionally, fixing the thermocouple tip to the product can be done in a variety of ways depending on the application and product characteristics.
■Specifications
Thermocouples range from heavyweight braided exposed junction Type K flexible thermocouples ideal for high temperature finishing applications such as high temperature coatings and PTFE curing to lightweight exposed junction Type K flexible thermocouples suitable for high temperature finishing applications where fast response characteristics are advantageous. There are various specifications. In particular, for temperature monitoring in windshield bending applications, it is recommended to securely fix the thermocouple to the glassware using a glass mounting kit.
