PTF 20E is a two-drum tablet friability tester, compliant with USP <1216> and EP <2.9.7>, that measures friability at a fixed speed of 25 rotations per minute, analyzing the weight change of samples to assess their friability.
The PTF 20E is designed to measure the friability of tablets and tablet cores. Samples rotate inside the drum, and the surface friability and weight loss are measured. The weight change after the test is calculated as the friability, with a general recommendation that the friability should be below 1%.
