After products have been molded in our facility, our associate company coat those in silver using aluminum metalizing. If the surface of a product contains bumps during the coating, it becomes difficult to have finer finished surface.

Reasons for having bumps on the surfaces are, one, insufficient vacuuming of air and/or gas produced during injection of molten resin into the cavity, known as a short shot. Two, burn marks created by heating compressed air and/or gas. Three, resin remain in the cavity cause resin filler to rise to the surface of a molded product.

To prevent such bumps from occurring, it is important to have air vents, escape routes for　air and gas, on parting sides of a mold. However, if depths of air vents are inadequate then insufficient amount of air and gas will escape, leading to burrs to occur.

We rely on a flow analyzer and accumulated data to calculate proper air vents.
