Permalloy has a high nickel content and is less prone to rust than carbon steel or iron, although it is not completely rustproof.
We heat treat permalloy in a hydrogen environment, allowing us to minimize oxidized permalloy over time or through work, resulting in a better purity permalloy (with outstanding magnetic characteristics).
