Jigs
Measuring machinery
This is an eccentric shaft with multiple centers.
It is an example of performing eccentric machining at low cost.
The center is φ16, and the diameter changes to φ10 and φ5 towards each end.
The tolerance of the eccentricity is controlled at ±0.01.
When manufacturing an eccentric shaft with precision machining, dimensions are usually achieved through grinding. This time, since the shaft accuracy is not of high precision,
all machining was done using an automatic lathe to reduce costs.
Although it takes time to set up the conditions,
a greater cost reduction effect can be expected when the production volume is high.
Brass is used, but electroless nickel plating is applied to improve corrosion resistance,
making it a very smart design and manufacturing example.
