Examining our roots, looking toward the future
Since manufacturing is rooted in individual craft, workers in the manufacturing industry need to continue identifying with their role as craftsmen (engineer). Therefore, CPI’s mission as a company is to foster our engineers. CPI has never shifted away from taking on the most challenging projects, which our clients have brought to us, which has also meant to turn down large-scale orders of simple machining work. But, CPI is a group of engineers rather than a group of producers. By taking on challenging projects, we have improved our technology, and by passing it along from one generation to the next, we accumulate expertise. My ultimate hope is for each of our employees to one day become independent and start their own company. As each senior employee becomes independent, juniors can also take their places independently. This process can foster succession of new people. I think this process will become a mainstream in the company in the future.
