PROCEM® is a conductive multilayer metal film for imparting electromagnetic shielding functions to polymers and composite materials. As plastics and composite materials are increasingly used in the components of electrical and electronic products, there have arisen issues of compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards for these components. Conductive coatings are one method often used to provide electromagnetic shielding functions without fundamentally altering the design of the enclosure, and in many cases, it is necessary to solve other constraints such as corrosion resistance and solderability for the realization of EMC functions. PROCEM™, a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating, not only offers the advantage of providing electromagnetic shielding functions but also simultaneously resolves issues such as changes in dimensions or weight of the enclosure before and after coating, and the finish of areas that require masking.
