ModuMiniTurn is a modular turning solution that enhances productivity through quick tool changes and high positioning accuracy.
ModuMiniTurn is a modular turning tool system provided by Tungaloy, specifically designed for Swiss-type automatic lathes and small lathes. Its modular design allows for quick and easy tool changes and setups, reducing downtime and boosting productivity.
■ Features
- High-precision positioning
The coupling mechanism between the modular head and shank ensures repeatability of the cutting point position within ±5 μm. This maintains high machining accuracy even after tool changes.
- Quick tool changes
Tool changes are performed by simply loosening the clamp screw, significantly reducing setup time and maximizing machine uptime.
- Wide range of modular heads
Modular heads are available for various operations, including forward turning, reverse turning, grooving, threading, parting-off, and Y-axis turning. This versatility enables one system to handle diverse machining needs.
- Internal coolant supply
All modular heads feature internal coolant channels that deliver high-pressure coolant directly to the cutting point. This improves chip evacuation and extends tool life.
- Y-axis machining approach
By adopting feed motion in the Y-axis direction instead of the conventional X-axis, chips are discharged downward, improving chip handling. This also enhances stability during machining.
ModuMiniTurn enables high-precision positioning and quick tool changes while flexibly accommodating diverse machining requirements. This achieves productivity improvements and cost reductions simultaneously.
