"This is an example of aggregate processing using a 5-axis machining center.

The product is made of S50C and has a size of 62mm x 98mm x 120mm. There are many deep holes intricately crossed inside.
This product was previously manufactured in 8 processes of a vertical machining center. There were processes that can be completed in about 1 to 3 minutes, and there were 8 processes for setup, so we needed the operator to attend the equipment constantly.

We added a 5-axis machining center in 2019, and since that, we manufacture it by 5-axis multi-faceted indexing.

Other than the bottom surface, we can complete all by 1 process using 5-axis multi-faceted indexing. 1 process with a 5-axis machining center ⇒ 1 process with a vertical machining center, a total of 2 processes for complete machining.
In addition, during the machining of 5-axis machining center, the operator can perform other tasks without being tied to the equipment.
Although the actual machining time could not be shortened so much, the setup and load time of the operator during machining could be dramatically reduced.
