Whirling is a specialized cutting process for producing threads and complex screw forms.
As an external whirling mechanism, it has been widely accepted by users in Europe and North America for decades.

[Whirling Mechanism Overview]
In external whirling, a ring-shaped tool holder is mounted eccentrically relative to the workpiece center.
The cutting inserts face inward toward the center of the holder and rotate along a fixed machining circle.
Each insert is offset by the full thread depth and engages the workpiece from one side.

The tool holder rotates at high speed, while the workpiece rotates slowly (C-axis) and moves axially (Z-axis) in sync, enabling accurate thread generation.

Cutting data such as thread outer diameter, pitch, and depth are used to calculate the cutting path.
The inserts are profiled to match the final thread geometry, ensuring precision and consistency.
