[Evaluation test] About rubber vulcanization test (crosslinking test)

[Rubber material performance evaluation test and material development support] We can assist in a wide range of areas as performance evaluation tests and material development support for rubber materials. Until now, we have assisted in various research and development projects. We would like to introduce our main handling tests. [Vulcanization test] "Vulcanization (cross-linking)" of rubber is to chemically bond the macromolecules polymers, to create a network structure. Vulcanization creates strong bonds between rubber molecules that increase elasticity and tensile strength. Before vulcanization, rubber stretches like chewing gum and does not return to its original shape, but vulcanized rubber is strongly bonded and tries to return to its original shape. Due to this action, a rubber like stretch and response occurs. The "vulcanization test" is to check the process from non-vulcanization to the end of vulcanization, and to confirm that there are no mistakes in the composition of materials and chemicals. At our company, we use it as a clue for performance evaluation during research and development. Also, perform vulcanization tests for each rubber kneading process in the mass production process is useful for quality control. [Curelastometer] The test equipment used for vulcanization tests is “curelastometer”. This device applies torsional vibration to a rubber test piece at a constant temperature and constant pressure, measures the torque received through the test piece, and measures the vulcanization characteristics of compounded rubber.
